Kingsley Primary School was inspected on 12th and 13th July 2016 under section 8 of the Education Act 2005 and the inspection was also deemed a section 5 inspection under the same Act.

The governors of the school had recognised that pupils at Kingsley were not doing as well academically as children in other schools, and were determined to do something about it. They looked for another school to sponsor Kingsley, and began working closely with Avenue Primary Academy in Sutton at the end of the year.

Although the report placed the school in ‘special measures’, governors were reassured by the support and capacity being provided by Avenue Primary Academy and Cirrus Primary Academy Trust and parents noticed the changes taking place to ensure that improvements were made quickly and that the school provides the education the children deserve.

The school joined Cirrus Primary Academy Trust as a sponsored academy on 1st February 2017.
